Ingredients:

For Litti:

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Water as required
  • 1 cup sattu (roasted gram flour)
  • 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
  • 1 tsp kalonji (nigella seeds)
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • Water as required

For Chokha:

  • 2 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 medium-sized brinjals (eggplants)
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 3-4 green chilies
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine wheat flour, salt, and ghee. Mix well and gradually add water to make a smooth dough. Cover and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  2. In another mixing bowl, add sattu, ajwain, kalonji, red chili powder, salt, and mustard oil. Mix well and add water gradually to form a stuffing-like consistency.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into flat circles. Place a spoonful of the stuffing mixture in the center and seal the edges, shaping them into balls again.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the litti for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
  5. For chokha, roast the potatoes, brinjals, and tomatoes on a gas stove or in an oven. Peel the skin and mash them in a bowl. Add chopped onions, green chilies, mustard oil, salt, red chili powder, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
